For an experienced MBCT or MBSR facilitator to become an approved mentor with the Centre for Mindfulness Studies, they need to apply to us directly for consideration.
The non-refundable application assessment fee is $200 and can be paid online at by purchasing the appropriate 'ticket' online.
The application should include the following:
- a recent CV / resume
- confirmation that they have facilitated at least 10 MBCT / MBSR programs
- confirmation that they have received supervision / mentorship for at least 3 of those groups by an approved mentor / an experienced mindfulness facilitator known by the Centre
- a letter of recommendation from their mentor / supervisor
- a recording of the applicant facilitating Session 4
Upon assessment of the application, Dr. Patricia Rockman, Co-Founder and Director of Education & Clinical Services (or her representative CMS faculty member) may ask for additional information before making a determination.
If the application is approved, the new mentor will be required to:
- complete 2-4 mentorship sessions with one of our senior approved mentors (at a cost of $160-$180 per hour)
- commit to following the Centre's mentorship policies and processes
- maintain the Centre's Good Practice Guidelines
